Why are raspberries healthy?

Summer is the perfect time for a portion of the beautiful red raspberries. They really look wonderful. Do you why the raspberry is so health?


Raspberries in developed countries are extremely popular and valuable fruit, first because the irresistible looks, very nice taste and smell, and also because of its medicinal properties. 



Raspberrie  is a shrub that originates from Southeast Europe, growing along the edges of roads and woods.Today it is often grown in gardes . They become a real home-grown fruits, like apples, pears and plums. 

Special feature of raspberry is rich content of various antioxidants that protect us from cancer and has positive impact on our health. According to some research, the antioxidant properties of the raspberries were 50% higher than the antioxidant activity in strawberries, ten times that of the tomato, and three times that of the kiwi fruit.  Raspberries loses theirs antioxidant properties when we frozen them and consume in the form of jam. 

Raspberries are very sweet and contains very few calories, which is a great reason to enjoy them up. Raspberries are rich in vitamins. It is an excellent source of vitamin C. It also contains vitamin E, vitamin K and group B.  They contains almost all minerals. 



Raspberry contains quercetin, kaempferol, cyanidin-3-glukozilrutinozid, cyanidin-3-rutinoside and pelagonidin glycoside. Anthocyanins give them beautiful red color. The above materials are the guardians of our health, protect the body from free radicals, which cause aging and cancer. Raspberry possess antimicrobial properties and influence the excessive growth of bacteria and fungi in the body, such as Candida albicans. 

Raspberries  are a great source of fructose, flavonoids, vitamins (C and E), minerals (especially potassium). Raspberries should not eat people who have a kidney disease, where there is a reduced function of these organs. 
Raspberries are rich in fiber and substances which are natural allies in the fight against cancer. 

Raspberries provide energy to our body,  allow the proper function of the nervous system, helps regenerate tissue and positively affect the health of blood vessels. Raspberries prevent the occurrence of thrombosis.

Raspberries are useful for the recovery of blood counts, improves appetite in children and very effectively suppress nausea and vomiting. 



In folk medicine raspberry juice has been  used for the treatment of diseases of the stomach and intestines,  because effectively purifying the digestive organs. Raspberry juice is beneficial in the treatment of urinary tract infections. Raspberry juice should be given to children with a fever, because it effectively cools the body. 

Tea made from raspberry leaves can be used to strengthen the heart, treatment of hemorrhoids, repair allergic rashes and minor injuries to the skin. Raspberries have a positive impact on fertility. The  leaves of raspberry were often used for treating female infertility, because purified tubes and has a positive effect on the walls of the uterus. 

Because of the low carbohydrate content in the raspberry moderation good nutrition of patients suffering from diabetes, which is an advantage compared to other fruits. However, it should be careful  in individuals suffering from complications of diabetes in the kidney.  Some studies have shown that this fruit has a positive impact on blood sugar regulation. Energy value of 100 g of fresh raspberry fruit is about 52 kcal / 217 kJ. Of that 86% of raspberry containing water, 1.2% protein, 0.65% fat and 12% carbohydrate. It's a great source of dietary fiber (6.5 g). 



Just to remind you of the raspberries harvested in mid-summer, and no matter what the cost this fruit should not miss. All desserts made from beautiful raspberries have a positive effect on our body. However, the raspberry is best eaten fresh. Exceptions are kidney patients, who do not need to eat fresh raspberries.
